Puig de Sant Martí
Description
Puig de Sant Martí is a viewpoint hill near Alcúdia offering panoramic views across the Bay of Alcúdia, the Bay of Pollença, and the surrounding coastline.
The View
From the summit at 267 metres above sea level, the outlook stretches across the Bay of Alcúdia, Can Picafort, the Badia de Pollença, Cap de Formentor, and the harbour. Sunrises and sunsets are among the most celebrated experiences at the top. There are transmission masts at the summit, and the area immediately around them is fenced off.
The Ascent
The route starts as a wide gravel track through pine woodland, transitions into compacted sand and forest paths, and finishes on a short asphalted stretch. The final section of the climb is noticeably steeper than the rest of the route. From the turning off the Ma-3470, you gain around 220 metres of elevation. Mountain goats are a common sight along the way. Driving up by car is not permitted, and there is very little room to turn around at the top.
Location & Getting There
The hill lies within the municipality of Alcúdia. A free car park is available at the base. You can also cycle up to a certain point, after which the remainder of the route is on foot.
