Puig d'en Farineta
Description
Puig d'en Farineta is a hiking summit in the municipality of Andratx in south-west Mallorca, offering panoramic views across the entire region all the way to the island of Sa Dragonera.
Views & Experience
At the summit, a full 360-degree panorama awaits you — sweeping across the landscape around Andratx, S'Arracó and Sant Elm, with an unobstructed view of Sa Dragonera. The experience at the top is wonderfully peaceful, and the stillness at the viewpoint is something that stays with you long after the climb.
Trail Character & Requirements
The route is short but demanding. The terrain is rocky and rugged, and both the ascent and descent call for sure-footedness and sturdy footwear. The trail is by no means easy, despite what some hiking guides may suggest — and the descent in particular deserves respect. Way-marking is done with red paint, which has faded in places, so it pays to keep a close eye on your bearings throughout. The cemetery in S'Arracó is the most commonly used starting point. The hike can be suitable for older, experienced children, but it is not appropriate for toddlers or very young children.
Getting There
The hiking area sits within the municipality of Andratx (07159) in south-west Mallorca. Access is via S'Arracó, with the village cemetery serving as the standard trailhead.
