Puig St. Martí
Description
Puig St. Martí is a hiking peak and climbing area near Alcúdia in the north of Mallorca.
Hiking & Views
The ascent is relatively short and perfectly manageable for families with children and dogs. At the top, a sweeping panorama awaits — taking in both the Bay of Alcúdia and the Bay of Pollença. A handful of masts stand on the summit, but they do nothing to spoil the view. Setting off at sunrise is a great way to make the most of the light. Do bring plenty of water and never underestimate the sun.
Rock Climbing
Puig St. Martí offers climbing routes on solid rock that are well suited to beginners. That said, if you're heading up specifically to climb, bear in mind that a number of the existing bolts and anchor points are in need of refurbishment — so take care and check everything carefully before you commit.
Location & Surroundings
The area sits near 07400 Alcúdia. The forests around the town provide approach paths of varying lengths depending on your starting point; driving further in shortens the walk accordingly. The summit can even be reached by quad bike, which gives you a sense of just how versatile the terrain is.
