Punta des Grells
Description
Punta des Grells is a rugged rocky headland with a wild, unspoilt swimming cove in the Ponent district of Palma.
Views and Nature
From the clifftop, the eye sweeps far across the Bay of Palma and the Mediterranean. The panorama is particularly striking at dusk — sunsets here are an absolute highlight. The landscape is raw and untouched: rock, surf, and a naturally formed coastline set the scene.
The Cove of Caló d'es Grells
Below the cliffs lies the small cove of Caló d'es Grells, with crystal-clear, turquoise water. The atmosphere is calm and well away from the tourist crowds. The cove is well known as a naturist spot. There are no kiosks or refreshment stalls, so if you're planning a longer visit, it's best to bring your own food and drinks.
Access and Location
The address is Carretera Dic de l'Oest 4A in the Ponent neighbourhood of Palma. The official access to the cove is currently closed: the wooden staircase has missing steps, and the path down is blocked by a fence. Sturdy footwear is strongly recommended. The access road to the ferry port runs nearby and can occasionally be heard in the background.
