Raixa is a historic country estate near Bunyola, open to visitors free of charge as a public heritage centre, with exhibitions, beautifully kept gardens and sweeping views across the Serra de Tramuntana.
Gardens, Olive Mill and Water Reservoir
The estate takes in terraced gardens, orchards, fountains and ponds. Highlights include a large water reservoir and a fish-stocked pond. The historic olive mill also forms part of the route, offering a fascinating glimpse into traditional farming life on Mallorca.
Exhibition and Audio Guide
Inside the manor house you'll find an exhibition covering the flora, fauna, history, traditions and way of life of the Tramuntana region. A free audio guide accompanies your visit, leading you through the exhibition rooms and the garden grounds.
Tower and Viewpoint
A path leads up to a viewing pavilion and tower, where far-reaching panoramas take in the Serra de Tramuntana, Palma, the bay and the Mediterranean. The climb involves a fair few steps and calls for a bit of stamina, but every visitor agrees it's well worth the effort.
Location and Getting There
Raixa sits along the Ma-11 road from Palma to Sóller at kilometre marker 12.2, within the municipality of Bunyola. Having your own vehicle is the most convenient way to get here. Free parking is available directly on site, with additional free street parking nearby.
