Description
Can Trompe is a Mediterranean and Mallorcan restaurant in Cala d'Or, welcoming locals and visitors alike since 1984.
Mallorcan cooking since 1984
Ca'n Trompe has been a fixture of Mallorcan cuisine since 1984, drawing in locals and holiday-makers in equal measure. The paella is the undisputed star of the menu: the seafood paella, the 'blind paella' made with shelled seafood, and the fish paella are all firm favourites and a compelling reason to visit. Roast suckling pig is another crowd-pleaser, and the Frito Mallorquín with octopus makes for a thoroughly satisfying starter. The restaurant is housed in a building in the classic Ibizan style.
Fresh seafood and much more
Alongside the paella, the kitchen puts a strong emphasis on fresh seafood: scallops, sea bass, cod, prawns, squid, and sharing fish platters all feature on the menu. Meat lovers are well catered for too, with options such as lamb shoulder and steak. Vegetarians needn't miss out either — a vegetarian paella is explicitly on offer, along with further plant-friendly dishes. Portions are generous; the paella is served as a dish for a minimum of two people. A good wine list rounds things off nicely.
Right in the heart of Cala d'Or
The restaurant sits at Av. de Bèlgica 12, in the centre of Cala d'Or, alongside a row of fellow eateries. Free on-street parking is available nearby. The entrance is step-free, as are the seating areas.
Booking ahead is recommended
Ca'n Trompe is a popular spot, so booking a table in advance is strongly recommended to avoid disappointment. Families with children are very welcome, and the service has a well-earned reputation for being friendly and attentive.
