Description
Sa Romana is a family-run restaurant in Alcúdia serving Mediterranean and Italian cuisine in a beautiful villa where genuine Roman ruins are visible beneath glass panels in the floor.
cuisine & menu
The menu is pleasingly concise, with a strong focus on handmade pasta — tagliatelle, fettuccine, gnocchi and cannelloni all feature prominently. Starters include carpaccio, burrata, bruschetta, provolone and sobrasada with honey, alongside a selection of steak dishes. The team is happy to talk you through the menu and offer recommendations at the table, and the kitchen can accommodate dietary requirements such as gluten and lactose intolerance — just ask when you order.
Atmosphere & Building
The restaurant is housed in a Mediterranean villa with stone walls and marble floors. In the lower part of the dining room, ancient Roman ruins are visible through a glass floor — a truly unique historical feature that gives Sa Romana its distinctive character. The garden and terrace are spacious and peaceful, with lounge furniture perfect for a leisurely evening. Families with young children will also find a playground on site.
Location & Getting There
Sa Romana is located at Carrer de Pollèntia 81 in Alcúdia, conveniently situated between Port d'Alcúdia and the old town. Free parking is available directly on site.
A Family Affair
Sa Romana is run by a father and daughter. The chef regularly visits tables to check on guests and share recommendations, and the warmth of the whole team is something that comes through time and again in the way the restaurant is spoken about.
