Rutschbahn is a dance bar in the Platja de Palma area of Palma — famous for its literal slide entrance down into the party basement.

Discofox in the Underground

The beating heart of Rutschbahn is its underground dance floor, reached either by sliding down the slide or taking the stairs. Down below, Discofox plays alongside German-language dance pop from the 80s and 90s — a line-up that has stayed consistent across countless nights and earned the bar its cult status in the Ballermann scene. The atmosphere is loud, packed and gloriously lively as the night wears on; arrive early and you'll find things much quieter.

Crowd & Atmosphere

Rutschbahn has a reputation as the classic late-night last stop, long after the music has died down elsewhere. The crowd is wonderfully mixed, with younger and older guests dancing side by side. As the night progresses the basement fills up considerably, which adds to the intimacy of the place. It's widely regarded as a cult finale to a night out.

There are recurring, serious reports about the behaviour of door staff, with several independent accounts describing aggressive and at times physical conduct from bouncers. There are also repeated reports of discrepancies at the bar when it comes to billing.
