Description

S'Arenal d'en Casat is an unspoilt beach within the Son Real nature reserve on Mallorca, tucked between Can Picafort and Son Serra de Marina.

A wild beach in a protected landscape

The beach sits inside a nature reserve and offers a pristine stretch of coastline — sand, sea, dunes and low-lying pine woodland, with virtually no buildings in sight. There is no infrastructure whatsoever: no kiosks, no restaurants, no bins. Come prepared with everything you need — water, sun protection, and water shoes if you have them.

Water & nature

The water is clear and shallow enough for snorkelling. Coves and small rocky inlets line the shore, with pine forest accompanying the path along the coast. Posidonia seagrass can gather on the beach and in the shallows depending on the time of year and weather conditions, which may make swimming trickier. There is no shade on the beach itself.

Getting there

The beach falls within the municipality of Santa Margalida. A car park sits near a restored finca; from there, a flat coastal path leads to the beach — roughly 20 to 45 minutes on foot depending on your starting point. From Son Real, allow around an hour's walk. The path is scenic in its own right and lends itself well to a longer coastal hike.

Who'll enjoy the walk down

The beach is peaceful and rarely busy. Naturist bathing is common and completely uncontested. If you're after a quiet, natural cove well away from the crowds — and the seagrass cooperates — this is exactly the place.
