Description
Son Simó Vell is an agroturismo hotel set on a 40-hectare estate in Alcúdia in the north of Mallorca — a traditional Mallorcan Possessió that brings together a hotel, event venue and its own bodega under one roof.
A Finca with Its Own Winery
The estate has all the character of a classic Mallorcan Possessió: the exterior architecture follows the traditional lines of the surrounding landscape, while the interiors are open and minimalist. The property is home to Bodega Celler Canyelles i Batle — one of the smallest wineries on the island, rooted in a long family tradition of winemaking. The house wine, Pecat, is particularly well regarded, and wine tastings at the estate are available.
Accommodation & Atmosphere
Son Simó Vell can be hired as an exclusive private retreat for up to 16 guests. The rooms are generously proportioned; the Junior Suite features an exceptionally large bed and a spacious bathroom. The estate has a consistently calm and restorative feel. Donkeys, sheep and peacocks roam the grounds, and their sounds become a natural part of the stay.
Weddings & Events
As an event venue, Son Simó Vell offers outdoor civil ceremonies in the garden beneath ancient trees, along with paved and illuminated outdoor areas for banquets. A glazed courtyard provides a weather-protected alternative for smaller gatherings. Panoramic views across mountains and valleys frame the entire setting.
Location & Surroundings
The estate sits along the Carretera Palma–Alcúdia at km 43.700, within the municipality of Alcúdia (07400) in the north of the island. The address is: Ctra Palma – Alcúdia, Km 43.700, 07400 Alcúdia, Mallorca.
