Description

Teixits Riera is a family business specialising in traditional Mallorcan textiles, based in the heart of Lloseta — with in-house production dating back to 1896.

Ikat from Mallorca — woven, not printed

The heart of Teixits Riera is its authentic ikat fabric, made in the Mallorcan tradition and known locally as Teles de Llengos. Every piece is woven and handcrafted — no printed patterns here. The workshop uses 70% recycled cotton and 30% raw linen, following techniques passed down through generations to ensure each piece remains truly one of a kind. As well as fabric sold by the metre, the range includes tablecloths and covers.

Shop and workshop under one roof

Teixits Riera is both a retail space and a working workshop. Visitors can watch part of the production process in action, including a still-functioning textile loom from the early 20th century. That glimpse into the craft makes a visit here far more than an ordinary shopping trip.

In the heart of Lloseta

The shop is located at Carrer Major 50 in Lloseta, a town in the Mallorcan interior. Products are also available through the online shop at riera.com.

A word on communication

The main languages spoken in the workshop are Spanish and Catalan. English is not consistently spoken, and German is not available. That said, a bit of patience and the odd gesture go a long way — buying something has never been a problem for visitors who don't speak Spanish.
