Description
The Torre de Ca'n Picafort is a historic coastal navigation structure situated right in Can Picafort on the northern coast of Mallorca.
A Tower Built for Navigation
Known as a bearing tower — or Torres de defensa / Torres d'Enfilació in Spanish — this structure was built by the Navy along the coastline to aid navigation. Such towers supported Spanish submarines that were based on Mallorca until the early 1970s.
Location & Getting Here
The tower stands at Carrer Cervantes 24 in Can Picafort, 07458 Illes Balears — right on the coast in the heart of the town.
Coastal Scenery & Surroundings
Around the tower you'll find sweeping sea views with clear, turquoise water. Along the seafront promenade, abstract sculptures stand in the water and on the beach, making for a great photo opportunity. Bars and restaurants nearby mean a longer visit is easy to arrange.
