Description
Torrent Major is a natural stream on Mallorca that runs through a valley near Deià, with a walking trail following the watercourse all the way down to the Cala de Deià.
Walking trail along the stream
From the river bend at C'an Quet, a short and easy yet lovely trail leads down to the Cala de Deià. The path follows the stream for much of the way, offering a completely different perspective on the village. Torrent Major also sits along the broader walking route through the Serra de Tramuntana, making it a natural stop for hikers exploring the range.
The cove at the end of the trail
A small cove awaits you at the end of the walk. The beach is pebbly, which makes sunbathing a little uncomfortable — but the swimming more than makes up for it. The underwater life in the bay makes snorkelling and swimming particularly rewarding. On fine days the cove gets busy, and the sandy stretches are limited, so don't expect a traditional beach experience.
