Valle de Boquer
Description
The Valle de Boquer is a walking area near Pollença in the north of Mallorca, leading through a wild, tranquil valley to the secluded Cala Bóquer.
Through the valley to the sea
The route crosses the Valle de Boquer and ends at Cala Bóquer, a remote cove with clear, turquoise water. The terrain is rocky and rugged: the first part of the path is well-trodden, with firm sand and rock underfoot, while the final stretch becomes more challenging and requires a bit of route-finding. Sturdy footwear is strongly recommended. The cove itself is not sandy — expect stones and rock rather than a beach.
Landscape and wildlife
The valley showcases wild, unspoilt nature at its finest: dramatic mountain backdrops, striking rock formations and a peaceful, largely untouched atmosphere. Goats are a constant companion along the entire route. The valley is also a fantastic spot for birdwatching, with birds of prey such as kites and falcons regularly spotted overhead.
Who it's suited to
The route is family-friendly and manageable with children. If you take your time and soak up the viewpoints, allow two to three hours for the walk. In the heat of summer the hike can be physically demanding, so bring plenty of water and a sun hat.
