Description
The Sa Dragonera viewpoint is a spectacular vantage point in the municipality of Andratx, offering breathtaking views of the island of Sa Dragonera and the dramatic cliffs that surround it.
What to Expect
From the viewpoint you look out over Sa Dragonera and the sheer cliffs below — a drop of nearly 500 metres straight down. It's a panorama you won't find from anywhere else along this walking route, and on a clear day you stand a good chance of spotting the Mallorcan black vulture soaring overhead.
The Walk There
The viewpoint sits on the trail between Coll de sa Gramola and La Trapa and is well signposted from the junction. The path is manageable for anyone with a steady foot — no scrambling required. Narrow sections can feel a little tight when there's a crowd. Starting from Coll de sa Gramola, you'll cover around 4.5 km each way. Sant Elm is a popular alternative starting point, giving a round trip of roughly 10 km with about 250 metres of ascent and a walking time of around three hours. The viewpoint is also about 40 minutes from Sa Trapa.
Atmosphere & Character
Both the path and the viewpoint have a calm, peaceful feel to them. Head out early and you'll often have the whole trail to yourself.
Location & Getting There
The viewpoint lies in the municipality of Andratx (07159) in the west of Mallorca. Starting points for the walk include Sant Elm, Coll de sa Gramola, and the village of S'Arracó.
