Description
ZigZag Mallorca is a guided outdoor tour operator based in Palma, specialising in challenging hikes and active adventures through the island's most dramatic natural landscapes.
Tours & Activities
ZigZag Mallorca's core programme covers guided hiking, canyoning and coasteering. The centrepiece is a guided traverse of the Torrent de Pareis — a rugged gorge renowned for its difficulty, with rocky sections that are genuinely hard to navigate without a knowledgeable local guide. Other routes include a trek from Escorca down to the sea, a walk from Sant Elm to La Trapa, and a cave tour of the Cova des Coloms. Coasteering trips combine abseiling, swimming and cave exploration.
Guiding Style
The guides know every route, rock face and stretch of terrain inside out, and adjust pace and support to match the fitness and ability of each group. What defines the experience is a combination of safety on technical sections, clear briefings, and genuinely detailed knowledge of the geology, history, flora and fauna of the areas covered. Pre-tour organisation is equally strong — with prompt responses and flexible planning. Groups are kept deliberately small, which makes for a refreshingly personal atmosphere.
Who It's For
The tours are aimed at physically fit participants who are comfortable with heights. The Torrent de Pareis is explicitly not recommended for beginners — scrambling sections and unmarked terrain are very much part of the deal. That said, tours have been completed with teenagers and families where fitness levels were up to scratch.
Where to Find Them
ZigZag Mallorca's registered address is in the Ponent neighbourhood of Palma, at Carrer del Vicari Antoni Marimon 3. Further information and bookings are available at zigzagmallorca.com.
