International Chopin Festival
The International Chopin Festival is one of Mallorca's most storied classical events, commemorating the winter Frédéric Chopin and George Sand spent in Valldemossa in 1838–39. The piano recitals take place in the cloister and halls of the Reial Cartoixa (Charterhouse) of Valldemossa, a historic stage in the Serra de Tramuntana where the festival tradition reaches back to 1930. You'll hear internationally renowned pianists perform works by Chopin and his contemporaries in a setting that still carries the atmosphere of the composer himself.
