International Chopin Festival
The Festival Internacional Chopin brings Frédéric Chopin's music to life where it was written: the Reial Cartoixa of Valldemossa. Here the composer spent the winter of 1838/39 with George Sand and worked on part of his Préludes. Running since 1930, the festival is one of Mallorca's oldest piano traditions, drawing international pianists into the historic halls of the Carthusian monastery. You hear these works at their place of origin, framed by the Serra de Tramuntana – an evening of rare atmosphere.
