Anna-Maria Zimmermann was born on 14 December 1988 in Gütersloh, North Rhine-Westphalia. She made her first stage appearance at the age of five on the Mini Playback Show. In 2006, she competed in the third season of Deutschland sucht den Superstar (DSDS) on RTL, finishing in sixth place. Her debut single "Der Erste Kuss" (with the band Jojos) was released in 2007, followed by a deal with Universal a year later. "Wer Ist Dieser DJ?" reached number 66 in the German charts. After signing with EMI in 2009, she scored another chart hit with "1000 Träume Weit (Tornerò)" (no. 68). In October 2010 she was seriously injured in a Robinson R44 helicopter crash, but returned to the stage as early as 2011. Since then she has released numerous albums, including "Einfach Anna!" (2010), "Hautnah" (2012), "Sternstunden" (2013), "Bauchgefühl" (2015), "Himmelblau" (2017), "Sorgenfrei" (2018), and the compilation "Best Of" (2023, TELAMO). Collaborations with Achim Petry, Lorenz Büffel and Olaf Henning have shaped her career. She has been honoured with the Smago! Award and the Goldene Stimmgabel.
