Antonio Orozco

Barcelona, Spanienpop · latin-pop · flamenco
Antonio Orozco was born on 23 November 1972 in Barcelona and grew up in Viladecans, the son of a working-class Andalusian family with deep roots in Sevilla. At fifteen he bought his first guitar; a trip to Triana in Sevilla introduced him to flamenco, a sound that has shaped his style ever since. After his family relocated to Osuna he honed his guitar skills accompanying professional vocalists, before launching his own career busking in bars and train stations. His debut album sold over 100,000 copies; the follow-up Semilla del Silencio (2001) exceeded 300,000. His best-known tracks include the duet "Devuélveme la vida" with Malú (2001) and "Te Esperaré" (2002). The album Dos Orillas (2013) debuted at number one on the Spanish charts and held a Top Ten position for several months. Orozco has collaborated with Pablo Alborán, Aitana, and Alejandro Sanz, and has also worked as an actor, most notably in The Cover (2021). The Premio Onda and further awards confirm his status as one of Spain's leading pop artists.
