Ballett von Kiew

The Grand Kyiv Ballet – also known as Kiev Grand Ballet or Kyiv Grand Ballet – was founded in 2014 by Oleksandr Stoianov, a principal dancer of the National Ballet of Ukraine. The company launched with a French tour of 35 theatres, fielding a troupe of approximately 35 performers drawn largely from the National Opera of Ukraine. As an independent touring ballet company, the ensemble has built its reputation on classical productions such as Don Quixote, The Sleeping Beauty, and The Nutcracker. Since the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the company has been operating temporarily from the International Ballet Academy in Bellevue, Washington, USA. Current projects include The Forest Song, The Snow Queen, and Children of the Night. The Grand Kyiv Ballet stands for technically accomplished classical ballet and carries Ukrainian dance culture to international stages – a company that has remained true to its artistic mission even under the most challenging political circumstances.
