Ben Hemsley was born in 1996 in North Shields, near Newcastle upon Tyne, and grew up listening to his mother's 90s dance compilation CDs – a formative influence that runs through everything he makes. By the age of 14 he was already playing DJ sets at under-18 events. His early releases on Lee Foss's Repopulate Mars and Solardo's Sola label – including "Caress Me" and "Through 2 You" (Ministry of Sound, 2021) – earned him support from Patrick Topping, Calvin Harris, Fatboy Slim and Tiësto. At heart, though, Hemsley has always been a trance kid: in 2022 he founded his own imprint bebé Recordings to bring the rave and trance sound of the 90s into the modern era. The 2022 track "Erase Me" became a fan favourite, BBC Radio 1 nominated him for Breakthrough Artist of the Year, and in 2023 he took home the DJ Mag Best Producer award. His Connection Tour sold out entirely, including shows at Warehouse Project and Newcastle Arena. In Ibiza he held a residency at Ibiza Rocks Hotel in 2023 and returned for a full summer residency in 2024 (June–September). In 2026 he is scheduled to play BCM Magaluf.
