BOB SINCLAR

Paris, Francehouse · french-touch · electronic · disco
Bob Sinclar is the stage name of Parisian DJ and producer Christophe Le Friant, born on May 10, 1969 in Paris. He began his career in the 1980s as Chris the French Kiss, rooted in hip-hop and jazz, and co-founded the independent label Yellow Productions with DJ Yellow in 1993 – a cornerstone of the French house scene. He adopted the Bob Sinclar alias in the late 1990s, inspired by the French spy comedy film "Le Magnifique." His international breakthrough came with the 1998 co-production "Gym Tonic" alongside Thomas Bangalter (Daft Punk), sampling Jane Fonda. Albums such as "Paradise" and "Champs Elysées" yielded classics like "I Feel For You" and "Darlin'." In 2005, "Love Generation" (feat. Gary Pine) and "World, Hold On" reached number one worldwide, firmly establishing him as a household name. As a driving force behind the Africanism collective (launched 2001, alongside Martin Solveig, David Guetta and DJ Gregory), he shaped a generation of dance music lovers. Sinclar has remixed Madonna, Rihanna, Jamiroquai and Moby, and collaborated with Kylie Minogue, Robbie Williams, Sean Paul and Raffaella Carrà. He is a regular at the Carnaval de Rio and Tomorrowland, and a long-standing resident of the Ibiza-based Pacha club brand. In May 2025, he signed a global deal with Warner Chappell Music.
