The Bourbon Street Stompers are one of Germany's most enduring jazz combos. Founded in Essen in May 1993 while the members were still teenagers, the band has spent over 30 years championing the sound of the 1920s: New Orleans Hot Jazz, Swing, and Traditional Jazz with powerful brass lines. As early as 1995, they won first prize at WDR – Germany's largest public broadcaster – in the "Best Up-and-Coming Band" category, which enabled them to record their debut album "A Tribute to Dixie". Since then, the band has released albums including "Stompin' Milestones" (1999), "Those Struttin' Syncopators" (2003), "Caution Hot!" (2006), and "Men of Steam" (2011). The current line-up has been playing together for more than 20 years. Internationally, the Stompers have performed in Spain, including a 2013 concert in Teulada alongside vocalists Elisabeth "Betty" Berent and Joshua Stewart. Now based in Düsseldorf, they continue to bring the authentic spirit of the Roaring Twenties to audiences across Europe.
