DJ Cia hails from São Paulo, Brazil, and is one of the most prominent figures in Brazilian hip-hop. Her sound fuses classic hip-hop with Brazilian rhythms, giving her productions a distinctive identity. She gained widespread recognition through collaborations with two of the most influential forces in Brazilian hip-hop: with rapper Sabotage she created "Na Zona Sul" and "País da Fome: Homens Animais", while her work with the Racionais MC's – Brazil's best-known hip-hop group – yielded tracks such as "Cores & Valores", "Quanto Vale o Show" and "Preto Zica". "Cores & Valores" addresses social issues including racism and police brutality. On the live circuit, DJ Cia has demonstrated her skills on international stages, performing at the Rio Music Conference alongside DJ Marky and Marcelo D2, at the São Paulo Hip Hop Festival with the Racionais MC's, and at South by Southwest in Austin, Texas.
