Dave Seaman, born on 29 April 1968 in Leeds, is one of the defining figures of the British electronic music scene. He played his first professional DJ gig in 1990 at the legendary Shelley's in Stoke-on-Trent – the start of a global career that has taken him to over 80 countries. He first made a name for himself as editor of Mixmag before co-founding the production duo Brothers in Rhythm with Steve Anderson, working with Pet Shop Boys and Kylie Minogue and delivering remixes for David Bowie, New Order, U2 and Michael Jackson. As a DJ, Seaman is best known for his contributions to the acclaimed Renaissance and Global Underground series – including mixes for Melbourne, Buenos Aires, Cape Town and Lithuania, plus ten entries in the Renaissance series alone. Musically, he moves between progressive house, tech house and techno. Together with Steve Parry, he co-founded Selador Recordings, home to artists such as Hernan Cattaneo, Rodriguez Jr. and Timo Maas. His own releases have appeared on Selador, Poker Flat, Mobilee, Sincopat and Sudbeat. More recently, he has been a regular presence on Ibiza, playing venues including Akasha and Pikes Ibiza.
