Denis Sulta

Denis Sulta – real name Hector Barbour – was born in Glasgow in 1993 and has become one of the most distinctive voices in Scottish club music. His musical education began at the renowned Glasgow record shop Rubadub, where he learned to produce and DJ alongside like-minded colleagues, while also organising his own after-parties in unconventional venues. This led to a regular residency at Sub Club, right around the corner. His breakthrough came in 2015 with the track "It's Only Real", released on Glasgow's Numbers and Dixon Avenue Basement Jams labels. A widely acclaimed Boiler Room set in his hometown, followed by bookings at The Warehouse Project, Space Miami, and Berlin's Panorama Bar, launched him onto the international stage. In 2019, the EP "Aye Spoake Te Sumwuhn & They Listenhd" appeared on Ninja Tune – his most ambitious release to date, exploring themes of self-discovery. Through his own label Sulta Selects, he curates both parties and releases, deliberately championing artists who genuinely excite him. Multiple Ibiza residencies – including back-to-back sets with Solomun – have cemented his status as a world-class DJ. Most recently, he returned to the spotlight with the 2025 rework "It's Only Real 2025" (feat. TEED) and the launch of his new label Silvers.
