Die Draufgänger were founded in 2001 in the Wolfsberg district of Styria, Austria, originally as a cover and parody band. Their sound fuses traditional folk music, Schlager, rock, and pop into an infectious party blend with a distinct sense of humour. A first major boost came in 2007 when they appeared at the Grand Prix der Volksmusik. In subsequent years they turned songs from a wide range of genres into folk-flavoured party hits, including "Gloria" by Nik P. and "Holz" by hip-hop duo 257ers. Their album "#Hektarparty" (2018) reached number one in Austria and featured their signature track "Cordula Grün", which became a nationwide phenomenon across the German-speaking world at Oktoberfest 2018. The follow-up album "Grün" arrived in 2020, and "Mädchen und Märchen" followed in 2023. Notable collaborations include "Johnny Deere" with Lorenz Buffel and "Fendt (Layla)" with Troglauer. Live, the band are a fixture on Ballermann and après-ski stages – including regular appearances at Megapark Mallorca.
