Eduardo Guerrero

Eduardo Guerrero was born in 1983 in Cádiz and began dancing at the age of six at Carmen Guerrero's school in his home city. He went on to work with defining figures of contemporary flamenco: Mario Maya, Antonio Canales, Manolo Marín, Eva Yerbabuena, Aida Gómez, Rocío Molina, Javier Latorre and Rafael Aguilar all helped shape his artistry. From 2002 he took on leading roles with major companies, including the Spanish National Ballet directed by Javier Latorre and Amador Rojas' dance company. In 2011 his choreography "Mayo" was awarded first prize by Spain's Professional Conservatories – a turning point after which Guerrero committed fully to a solo career. He subsequently created productions such as "Suite Flamenca" and most recently "El Manto y su Ojo", a dance work that treats sleep as a space of resistance and regeneration: on stage, Guerrero surrenders to rest, from which a symbolic, dreamlike and profoundly human dramaturgy emerges, where the body dances what words cannot express. His dance blends classical and contemporary flamenco with elements of ballet – technically precise yet capable of shifting into wild spontaneity within seconds. On 12 March 2027 he brings this production to the Auditòrium de Palma.
