El Consorcio is a Spanish vocal group from Bilbao, founded in 1993 by Amaya, Estíbaliz and Iñaki Uranga, Carlos Zubiaga and the late Sergio Blanco (died 2015) — all former members of the iconic group Mocedades, which had famously finished second at the 1973 Eurovision Song Contest with "Eres Tú".
With their hallmark multi-part harmonies and a repertoire rooted in melodic pop and classic Spanish canción, they became the quintessential vocal group in Spain. They are the only Hispanic group to have sold more than one million copies of a single sung entirely in Spanish. Their best-known songs include "Tómame o déjame", "El vendedor", "Amor de hombre", "Desde que tú te has ido" and "Dónde estás corazón". They have released music on Hispavox, EMI Music and Sony Music, with notable compilations such as "Grandes éxitos" (1997) and the tribute record "Las Canciones de Mi Vida" (2000). Collaborations with Los Secretos and Carlos Mejía Godoy highlight their artistic versatility.
In 2016, El Consorcio received the Latin Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award. Their ongoing tour has taken them to prestigious venues such as the Palau de la Música Catalana in Barcelona, and they continue to perform on major stages across Spain.
