Vimercate, Italyhip-hop · trap · rap
Emis Killa, born Emiliano Rudolf Giambelli on 14 November 1989 in Vimercate, Lombardy, grew up in a musical household – his father Sergio Giambelli is a keyboardist. At 17 he won the prestigious Italian freestyle competition TecnichePerfette (2007), putting himself firmly on the map. His first mixtapes appeared via the indie label Blocco Recordz in 2009 and 2010 before he signed to the storied Carosello label.
His debut album „L'erba cattiva" (2012) peaked at number two on the Italian album chart, went platinum, and yielded the breakthrough single „Parole di ghiaccio". MTV named him Best Italian Act at the European Music Awards; TRL Italy honoured him as Best Emerging Artist. The platinum chart-toppers „Mercurio" (2013, #1) and „Terza stagione" (2016, #1) as well as „Supereroe" (2018) consolidated his status as one of Italy's leading rappers.
His sound fuses aggressive hip-hop flows with melodic pop hooks and modern trap production, drawing on US influences such as the Diplomats, The Game, and Fabolous. Notable collaborations include Jake La Furia, Marracash, Fabri Fibra, Sfera Ebbasta (chart-topping „On Fire"), Gué, Shiva, and the recent Fred De Palma & Anitta track „La testa gira", which topped the EarOne Latin Airplay chart for multiple weeks in 2026. Live highlights include the Red Valley Festival and Milan's Mediolanum Forum.
