FISHER – born Paul Nicholas Fisher on 5 November 1985 in Gold Coast, Australia – is one of the most prominent tech-house DJs and producers of his generation. Before taking over dancefloors worldwide, he was a professional surfer on the World Qualifying Series, with surf-brand sponsorships from the age of 16. He started DJing at local Gold Coast venues in 2005, moved into production in 2011, and first made his mark as one half of the DJ duo Cut Snake alongside a fellow surfer.
His solo breakthrough came from 2017 onwards with a run of singles on Claude VonStroke's Dirtybird label – including "Ya Kidding", "Stop It" and "Ya Didn't". "Stop It" climbed to No. 1 on the Beatport Overall chart within a week of release. In 2018, he dropped "Losing It" on his own imprint Catch & Release in partnership with Insomniac Music Group: the track hit No. 1 on the Billboard Dance Club Songs chart and on the Australian Club Tracks chart, earned ARIA platinum certification, and earned FISHER a Grammy nomination for Best Dance Recording at the 61st Grammy Awards.
Now based in Los Angeles, FISHER has headlined Coachella (Sahara Stage, 2019) and Ultra Miami, and holds Ibiza residencies including UNVRS from 2026. His signature: driving basslines, dry Aussie humour, and an unwavering focus on the dancefloor. In the 2025 DJ Mag Top 100, he ranked No. 7.
