Turin, Italypop · reggaeton · pop rap
Fred De Palma, born Federico Palana on November 3, 1989, in Turin, started his career in 2007 on the freestyle rap circuit in Turin and Milan, winning the Zelig Urban Talent competition in 2011 and finishing third on MTV's rap battle show Spit in 2012. Together with Dirty C he formed the duo Royal Rhymes, signing with Trumen Records in 2010 and releasing a debut album in 2011. In 2014 he joined Warner Music Italy, debuting with the album BoyFred. His 2017 release Hanglover marked a decisive shift towards reggaeton, shaped by collaborations with producers Takagi & Ketra. The summer hits "Non è la fine" (2018) and "Una volta ancora" (2019) – both featuring Spanish singer Ana Mena – established him as Italy's leading reggaeton voice. In 2020, "Paloma" with Brazilian star Anitta reached number 4 on the Italian FIMI chart and was certified triple platinum. His 2021 album Unico featured further collaborations including Baby K. In 2024, he competed as a solo artist at the Sanremo Festival for the first time.
