Guitarricadelafuente is the stage name of Álvaro Lafuente Calvo, born on 27 August 1997 in Benicàssim, Valencia. The name fuses the Aragonese diminutive "guitarrica" with his surname, referencing the folk traditions of his grandparents' village of Las Cuevas de Cañart in Aragon. He started sharing cover versions on Instagram in 2017, and recorded his first original composition, "Conticinio", at home using a PlayStation microphone in 2018. His breakthrough came in 2019 through the collaboration with Operación Triunfo contestant Natalia Lacunza on "Nana Triste", which reached number four on the Spanish singles chart. His debut album "La Cantera" (2022) drew on the sounds of his coastal hometown and rural Aragon. The 2025 follow-up "Spanish Leather" expanded his sound with futuristic elements while openly embracing his queer identity. He gained international attention through his appearance on Troye Sivan's album track "Something to Give Each Other" (2023). Now signed to Sony Music and based in Barcelona, he is currently on his first world tour. He is also set to make his acting debut in the film "La Bola Negra" (dir. Javier Calvo & Javier Ambrossi), alongside Penélope Cruz and Glenn Close. On 21 August 2025 he performs live in Calvià, Mallorca.
