Hombres G

Hombres G are one of the most defining bands in Spanish rock history. Founded in the early 1980s in Madrid, the group consists of David Summers (vocals, bass), Rafa Gutiérrez (lead guitar), Dani Mezquita (rhythm guitar, keyboards) and Javi Molina (drums). The band's name was inspired by the American film "G-Men". They made their live debut in 1983 at Madrid's legendary Rock-Ola club before signing with independent label Twins. Their debut album "Hombres G" (1985) and the single "Devuélveme a mi chica" brought them their breakthrough – driven by catchy guitar riffs, witty lyrics and Summers' unmistakable voice. The influence of the early Beatles and the British new wave movement is clearly audible. In 1986, the widely acclaimed album "La Cagaste… Burt Lancaster" was released, followed by a South American tour. After seven studio albums – including "Historia del Bikini" (1992) – the band disbanded. They returned in 2002 with the compilation "Peligrosamente Juntos", and in 2004 released the new studio album "Todo Esto Es Muy Extraño". Since then, Hombres G have toured continuously and released further albums, most recently "La esquina de Rowland" (2021) and "¿Por qué no ser amigos?" (2025). Billboard included them in their list of the 50 Best Latin Rock Bands of All Time. The original quartet remains intact to this day.
