Interplanetary Criminal is the alias of Zach Bruce, born in 1993 in Blackburn and raised in Bolton, Greater Manchester. He began producing electronic music in 2012, inspired by Huxley's house track "Box Clever", initially exploring dark breakbeat before moving through lo-fi house and ultimately landing on UK garage, speed garage and bassline. His debut EP "Intergalactic Jack" came out in 2017 on E-Beamz, followed by releases on Kalahari Oyster Cult, Shall Not Fade and Sneaker Social Club. In 2019, he co-founded ATW Records with producer Main Phase, which has grown into one of the defining labels in the Northern UK garage scene. His international breakthrough came in 2022 with "B.O.T.A. (Baddest of Them All)", produced with Eliza Rose – a UK and Irish number one, certified double platinum in the UK. Since then he has collaborated with Gorgon City (on Warehouse Project Records), Riko Dan, KETTAMA, SadBoi and Koffee. His 2024 collaboration with SadBoi, "No Time", earned him a Juno Award for Dance Recording of the Year in 2025, the same year DJ Mag named him Best DJ. His raw, high-energy sets have taken him from Leeds' Wire club to Dekmantel, DGTL, and Brixton Academy.
