Israel Fernández was born in 1989 in Corral de Almaguer (Toledo) into a Roma family, growing up with flamenco as a living inheritance. At eleven he won his first televised singing competition; at eighteen he recorded his debut album *Naranjas Sobre la Nada* and joined filmmaker Carlos Saura's company. Since then he has released several albums, including *Amor* — nominated for Best Flamenco Album at the 22nd Annual Latin Grammy Awards (2021) — and his most recent album *Pura Sangre*, created alongside Jerez guitarist Diego del Morao, his long-standing musical partner. Working with maverick producer El Guincho, Fernández developed singles such as "La Inocencia," in which orchestral electronic enhancements expand classical flamenco singing without abandoning its roots. Further collaborations link him to DELLAFUENTE and Omar Montes. He is signed to Universal. In 2022 he represented Spain at the world music showcase WOMEX. El País called him "the voice that sings the present and future of flamenco," while Billboard described him as one of the most captivating emerging flamenco artists of this century. The *Pura Sangre* tour has taken him to Sadler's Wells in London and the Kaufman Music Center in New York.
