Jove Camerata Acadèmica Sant Llorenç

Sant Llorenç des Cardassar, Spanienclassical · baroque
Jove Camerata Acadèmica Sant Llorenç is a youth orchestra from Sant Llorenç des Cardassar in Mallorca, bringing together children, teenagers and young adults aged 3 to 23 who share a passion for music and grow together through orchestral practice. Under the direction of Isabel Morey Suau – now joined by Neil Fellows – the ensemble has built a strong tradition in Baroque music. As early as 2013/2014, the Camerata presented concert highlights under Isabel Morey's direction, documenting its ongoing development as a training orchestra. Notably, the ensemble has collaborated with young contemporary composers: Guillem Palomar, Francisco Javier Sánchez Barajas, Hugo Gómez-Chao and Jon Esnaola developed original works together with the group as part of composition scholarships, showing that the orchestra nurtures new music alongside classical repertoire. The Camerata performs regularly at cultural venues across the island, including Espai 36 in Sant Llorenç des Cardassar and the Auditori at Centre Cap Vermell in Capdepera. As a training orchestra, Jove Camerata Acadèmica Sant Llorenç exemplifies Mallorca's vibrant musical education scene, offering young talents a stage to share and develop their passion for music.
