Julie Silvera is a Jamaican-born jazz vocalist based primarily in Germany and active across Europe. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Classical Vocal Performance and a Master's degree in Choral Conducting from Washington State University, where she simultaneously honed her jazz artistry. Her talent earned her early recognition: Silvera is a three-time Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival winner in the jazz voice category and a two-time Downbeat Magazine Award winner (college vocal). She studied with jazz vocalist Kevin Mahogany and has performed alongside luminaries such as Russell Malone, Christian McBride, Roy Hargrove and Ira Sullivan. As a background vocalist she has shared the stage with Michael Bublé, George Benson, Josh Groban, Gloria Estefan and German pop-soul star Max Mutzke. Critics liken her warm, crystal-clear tone to Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan and Carmen McRae, while her phrasing remains distinctly her own. Silvera has sold out concerts in Paris, Budapest, Rome and Prague's historic Reduta Jazz Club, and performed at Birdland Hamburg in 2022. On Mallorca she appeared alongside the Bourbon Street Stompers from Düsseldorf, a New Orleans hot jazz and swing band.
