Justin Quiles – full name Justin Rafael Quiles Rivera, born March 29, 1990, in Bridgeport, Connecticut – is a Puerto Rican-American singer and songwriter who specialises in reggaeton, extending his sound into Latin pop and Latin trap. Raised in Puerto Rico and Florida, he grew up immersed in both Spanish-language urban music and classic US hip-hop.
Before breaking through as a solo act, he built his reputation as one of reggaeton's most sought-after behind-the-scenes songwriters, penning hits such as "Pierde Los Modales" for J Balvin feat. Daddy Yankee, "Downtown" for Anitta feat. J Balvin, "Recuérdame" for Maluma, "Loba" for Yandel, and "Bichota" for Karol G. He signed with Miami-based Rich Music in 2013, followed by a distribution deal with Warner Music Latina in 2017.
His solo breakthrough came in 2016 with La Promesa, which peaked at No. 2 on Billboard's Top Latin Albums chart and topped the Latin Rhythm Albums chart. Subsequent releases include Realidad (2019), the label collective project The Academy, and La Última Promesa (2021) – RIAA Platinum-certified and featuring the hit "Loco" with Chimbala & Zion y Lennox. His most recent album, PERMANENTE, dropped in August 2024. With his combination of hard-hitting reggaeton beats and melodic vocals, Quiles is a firm fixture on the global Latin music circuit.
