Las Migas is an all-female flamenco quartet from Barcelona, founded in 2004 by students of the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya – among them guitarist and bandleader Marta Robles and later solo star Sílvia Pérez Cruz. Their name refers to the Spanish dish "migas" (breadcrumbs). The group weaves traditional flamenco together with country, bluegrass, jazz, rumba, pop and classical music, while all members actively play instruments and contribute as composers – a statement in a genre that historically confined women to singing and dancing.
Their debut album *Reinas del Matute* (2010), produced by Raül Refree and featuring texts by poets Federico García Lorca and Rafael Alberti, launched their international career. Further albums followed, including *Cuatro* (MIN Award 2019) and *Libres* (Latin Grammy for Best Flamenco Album 2022, MIN Award 2023). In 2024 came *Rumberas*, and in spring 2025 *Flamencas*, co-produced by Oriol Riart, which earned them a second Latin Grammy for Best Flamenco Album – bringing their total to two wins and four nominations.
Collaborators include Estrella Morente, Tomatito, Rozalén, Miguel Poveda and Kevin Johansen. With over one million Instagram followers, Las Migas rank among the most prominent flamenco acts on the global stage, performing regularly at international festivals and prestigious venues.
