Love of Lesbian

Love of Lesbian is an indie pop band from Catalonia, founded in Barcelona in 1997. The lineup – Santi Balmes (vocals), Julián Saldarriaga, Jordi Roig, Joan Ramón Planell and Oriol Bonet – started out as an indie and alt-rock act singing exclusively in English. With their fourth album "Maniobras de Escapismo" (2005) they made a decisive switch to Spanish, firmly establishing themselves in Spain's indie scene. As early as 2000, they were opening for the Cure on tour in Spain – an early indicator of their reach. Their debut album "Microscopic Movies" appeared in 2000, followed by "Is It Fiction?" (2002) and "Ungravity" (2003). "La noche eterna. Los días no vividos." reached number 1 on the Spanish charts in 2012 and earned the band a nomination for the MTV Europe Music Award for Best Spanish Act. Love of Lesbian are signed to Warner Music and other labels (Naïve, Rock K, Pussycats). On 27 March 2021, they headlined the first large-scale concert in Spain following COVID-19 restrictions – a historic moment for the country's live music scene.
