Mazoni is the stage name of Jaume Pla, born in 1977 in La Bisbal d'Empordà in the Catalan region of Baix Empordà. He formed his first band at the age of 13 with Carles Sanjosé, later known as Sanjosex, and went on to front the indie band Holland Park before launching his solo career. In 2004 he released his debut album „7 songs for a sleepless night" on the independent label Bankrobber.
Subsequent releases — „Esgarrapada" (2006), „Si els dits fossin xilòfons" (2007) and „Eufòria 5 – Esperança 0" (2009) — established him as a key figure in Catalan-language indie music. In 2010 he undertook an ambitious live project: 31 concerts on 31 consecutive days, later documented in the live album „13.31". His 2019 record „Desig imbècil" draws on public-domain compositions and is among his most acclaimed works. As a singer-songwriter and producer, Mazoni crafts indie rock and pop with exclusively Catalan-language lyrics.
