Langenfeld, Deutschlandschlager · pop
Menderes Bağcı, born on 13 November 1984 in Langenfeld near Düsseldorf, is a German entertainer of Turkish descent and one of the most recognisable cult figures in German casting-show history. His first name was given in honour of Adnan Menderes, Turkey's first freely elected prime minister. Since his debut on "Deutschland sucht den Superstar" (DSDS) in 2002, he returned to the show repeatedly, winning a massive fan following despite never taking the top prize. In January 2016 he won the tenth season of "Ich bin ein Star – Holt mich hier raus!" (the German version of I'm a Celebrity), being voted Jungle King by the public. Musically he works in the party-Schlager genre: between 2011 and 2016 he performed regularly at the Ballermann, including the Mega-Park. In 2023 he signed with Schlager label Telamo and released his long-awaited debut album "Sieger der Herzen" along with the lead single "Er liebt dich nicht". Earlier singles include "Queen of my Heart" (2015), "Mittendrin" (2016) and "Auf meinem Planeten" (2020). Since 2019 he has also been a recurring cast member on Jan Böhmermann's ZDF late-night show "Magazin Royale".
