MK

MK – real name Marc Kinchen – was born in 1972 in Detroit and is one of the most influential house producers and remixers of the past three decades. His roots lie in early-1990s Detroit: tracks such as "Burning" (1991, US Dance Club Charts #7) and releases under his 4th Measure Men alias – including "Always", "4 You" and "Just A Dream" – became cornerstones of deep house. His remix of Nightcrawlers' "Push The Feeling On" put the then-unknown group firmly on the global house map. After honing his R&B craft in the early 2000s with artists like Will Smith, MK made a thunderous comeback in 2013 when his rework of Storm Queen's "Look Right Through" hit #1 on the UK Singles Chart. A year later, his remix of Wankelmut & Emma Louise's "My Head Is A Jungle" became the Ibiza anthem of summer 2014. His catalogue now exceeds one billion global streams, and remixes for Dua Lipa, Sam Smith, Rihanna and Lana Del Rey underline his cross-genre relevance. In 2023, he won Best Dance/Electronic Release at the ARIA Music Awards for "Rhyme Dust" (feat. Dom Dolla). As founder of his own Area10 label and a regular headliner at Ushuaia Ibiza, MK consistently commands the biggest dancefloors in Europe – including BCM Mallorca in Magaluf.
