MOBLACK
Naples, Italyafro-house · melodic-house · tech-house · deep-house
MoBlack – born Mimmo Falcone in Naples – is one of the defining figures in the global Afro House scene. His sound was shaped by a formative decade: from 2003 he spent ten years living in Ghana, where he immersed himself in the local music scene, hosted a 90-minute show on YFM Ghana, and played in local clubs. Those years forged deep connections with South African and African producers and laid the sonic foundation for everything that followed. After demo submissions to established labels went unanswered, he founded MoBlack Records in 2013 – which grew, in close partnership with Traxsource, into Beatport's best-selling Afro House label (as of 2023). MoBlack has been instrumental in shaping what is now called "Afro Tech / Melodic House & Techno." He has released on Defected Records – most recently collaborating with Henrik Schwarz and Emmanuel Jal – and enjoys support from Black Coffee, Solomun, Bedouin, Pete Tong, Diplo, and Tale Of Us, among others. His live appearances span Tomorrowland, Watergate Berlin, Avant Gardner, and House Of Yes in New York. His sets weave rhythmic depth with African sonic textures, equally at home in intimate clubs and on major festival stages.
