Niña Pastori

Niña Pastori, born María Rosa García García on 15 January 1978 in San Fernando, Cádiz, is the youngest of five siblings and the only daughter of flamenco singer La Pastori. She began accompanying her mother to local tablaos at the age of six and won her first contest a year later. Her stage name arose organically: she was "la niña" among her brothers, the daughter of La Pastori. At just 17, she released her debut album *Entre dos puertos* (1996), produced by Paco Ortega and Alejandro Sanz. The single "Tú Me Camelas" became a nationwide hit and the album sold over 150,000 copies. *Eres Luz* (1998) and *Cañailla* (2000) – named after the nickname for San Fernando's residents – followed, the latter featuring an anthem to her hometown Cádiz written by Alejandro Sanz. Her music consistently blends traditional flamenco with pop, salsa and jazz. In 2014, the collaborative album *Raíz* with Soledad and Lila Downs won the Latin Grammy for Best Folk Album and received a Grammy nomination for Best Latin Pop Album. The trio also recorded with Santana. She has also collaborated with Juan Luis Guerra. Her 2025/26 album *Color Fania*, produced by Colombian producer CASTA, pays homage to New York's legendary Fania Records, exploring the shared roots of flamenco and salsa. With over two million records sold across nearly 30 years, she is one of the most respected cantaoras of her generation.
