Nino Gvetadze

Nino Gvetadze is a Georgian classical pianist born and raised in Tbilisi. She began her studies at the Tbilisi State Conservatoire under Veronika Tumanishvili, Nodar Gabunia and Nana Khubutia, before moving to the Netherlands to pursue her master's degree at the conservatoires of The Hague and Amsterdam, studying with Paul Komen and Jan Wijn. Her international breakthrough came in 2008 when she won the Second Prize, Press Prize and Audience Award at the International Franz Liszt Piano Competition; in 2010 she received the prestigious Borletti-Buitoni Trust Award. As a soloist she has performed with conductors including Yannick Nézet-Séguin, Jaap van Zweden, Klaus Mäkelä and Jakub Hrůša, and with orchestras such as the Rotterdam Philharmonic, Netherlands Philharmonic and Seoul Philharmonic. Her regular venues include the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Wigmore Hall London and Tonhalle Zürich. Gvetadze has released nine solo CDs on labels including Challenge Records, Orchid Classics, Brilliant Classics and Etcetera Records – among them her acclaimed Chopin album "Ghosts". She is a professor at Codarts Rotterdam and co-founder and Artistic Director of the Naarden International Piano Festival and the Delft Chamber Music Festival.
