Acadèmia 1830 is a chamber orchestra from Palma de Mallorca, founded in 2011 as part of the musical association of the same name. Under the direction of Fernando Marina, the ensemble brings together young professional musicians from the island at the highest level. The orchestra's flexible and variable formation allows it to tackle a wide repertoire – from Baroque music and the Viennese Classical period to symphonic works of the 20th century, including pieces by C. P. E. Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, and Mahler. Alongside the orchestra, the Acadèmia 1830 association also runs a choir, enabling both vocal and instrumental genres to be performed separately or together. The ensemble performs regularly at festivals across Mallorca, including the IV Festival Joan Ordinas Tous at the Auditori Santa Margalida, and at Bellver Castle in Palma – where a concert featuring Mahler's 5th Symphony is scheduled for August 2025.
