Ostblockschlampen – known as OBS – are a German DJ and producer duo comprising Sophie Schäfer and Markus Lange. Since forming in 2009, they have blended Bass House, EDM, Trap and Moombahton into a high-energy club sound that has taken them across Europe. Markus Lange has been producing since 2003, with releases on Great Stuff Records and Edition Craft Music; Sophie Schäfer has been DJing and producing since 2007 and has appeared on London's Simma Records. Their debut EP Rude Nudes dropped in 2010, followed by the single "Bitches from Ostblock" (2011) on New York's Coco Machete label. Subsequent years brought releases on Dim Mak, Top Billin', Crux and Police Records, plus remixes for Steve Aoki's Dim Mak imprint and Australian major Vicious Recordings. In 2015 they remixed Lindemann's "Praise Abort" (Skills in Pills) and landed "East Clintwood" on Spinnin' Records. Confirmed collaborations include Steve Aoki, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, LIZOT, HBz and Brazilian baile-funk artist Edu K. Festival credits include SonneMondSterne and Laundry Day (Belgium), alongside their own touring series OBSESSED. Current releases appear on Sony, Hexagon and Spinnin' Records.
